Whispers of the Past The Weather and Seasons Weather: It should have been spring by now; the weather should have warmed, and the snow should have melted. But when spirits enter the mortal world, nothing happens as it should. The winter has grown harsher, with snow falling nearly every day and cold winds scouring the land. On the bright side, with the prey once more roaming the lands, food is plentiful, though perhaps hard to find. Hunting Conditions: fair Breeding Season: yes *For your convenience, breeding/birthing season occurs, unrealistically, during the first two weeks of every RL month.* (place mouse over text to stop the scrolling) The Packs Three brothers came to these lands to establish their packs. Although their history was fraught with sorrow and guilt, they came together to start again, in lands of their own. What they did not know was that the lands of four other packs leaked into their newfound territories, and that the time would come when they would have to choose their allies, and choose them well. Which will you join? Loners A Loner is a wolf with no pack. If you choose to remain this way, you must accept that you will not be welcome in the pack lands, nor will you be able to hunt in them. You must, though, respect the alphas of the packs as well as their pack members, so be careful what you say. Da'Lith The Imperious Led by Chael and Amity, these wolves rely heavily on strength. They tend to think of themselves as the elite when it come to hunting, and they all have a high self-esteem. This pack is for the powerful fighters, who maybe aren't evil but aren't completely good either. Tyrehl The Gallant Kind and gentle, these wolves are the peacemakers. They will back down if it means ending a conflict. To be a member of this pack, it is advisable that you be patient and loving. The previous alphas, Lakota and Vyess, have left the lands; they have been claimed by the elderly Nave. Erkeni The Forlorn These wolves, ruled by Kirin and Raging Storm, are quite like those of the Da'Lith. The main difference is that the members of this pack tend to use their brains more than their brawn. They can be judgemental, and first impressions are everything to them. Here reside the wolves who dislike change, and prefer to have everything be the same way it always has been. Veren The Guarded The Veren are more welcoming than most packs, though they can also be judgmental and prejudiced. They are unlikely to trust someone with a dark past, or an evil appearance. But the pack is very close-knit, acting more like family than packmates. If you hurt a Veren wolf, be prepared, because the entire pack will come after you. Their previous alpha, Milleno, has returned to rule alongside his mate, Nierra. Zehr The Malevolent The pack for those wolves who live with a darkened past and blackened souls. These wolves live on the edge and have come to hate all wolves who have nothing on their conscience and nothing evil lurking their pasts. They are currently led by Tadec. Caladur The Sly Cunning and shrewd, this is the pack for those who lurk in the shadows. Here reside the eavesdroppers and spies, the assassins and double agents. They are very secretive and are more dark than good. No one knows what their real motives are, or whose side they are really on. A recent shift in power has left Nyx as alpha female. Lai'no The Spiritual Do you believe in magic? They do. Their strong morals and beliefs tell them that all things have spirits: flora, fauna and everything else. Many are extremely superstitious, and almost fanatical in their religion. They always pray for the souls of those things they have killed or desecrated, without exception. They can often be found praying or performing some odd ritual. They are generally accepting of newcomers, but shun any who disagree with their lifestyle. Latoki has recently claimed the lands. Will history repeat itself? Plot Updates The wolf Tristan, a member of the Erkeni, has returned from a meeting with the spirits, but he is not the same. The pack has noticed his change; he is now rude and arrogant, whereas once he was gentle and humble. And now wolves fall prey to strange symptoms, suggestions of a disease that follows no pattern and favors no wolf. Pack members and loners alike are affected by its spread. The peace of the lands has been broken; suspicion and fear abound, fed by the sudden actions of their unknown enemy. But their time is running out; before long, they will all have to choose sides and face their loved ones in battle. 	Keold Pass This is a path that leads through the mountains towards the Tyrehl pack borders. In the winter, this place is dangerous, as it is icy and the snow falls thickly, making it near impossible to see. In the summer, though, it is a good hunting ground. 	Eldor Plains These vast plains, which touch every horizon, are as bleak as they are beautiful. A mist rises from them in the early morning, and when the sun appears over the low hills and flatlands, the sight is a unique one. 	Yatin Prairie A place that is rather dry and only filled with brittle bushes and shrubs, not many wolves like to be here. The sun beats down with force during the day, but at night the air is cold, and one should find shelter. This is, however, one of the only ways to get to the Erkeni pack or the Zehr pack, if you wish to join them. 	Dirrum Hills Located by the Ceon Meadow, these grassy mounds connect the Eldor Plains and the Hetavyn Range. It's a wonderful place to play, as the rolling hills have many nooks, crannies and holes in which to hide. Small animals, like rabbits, are found here. 	Hetavyn Range These tall, craggy peaks are rocky with little vegetation. Snow always coats the tips, contrasting with the brown and grey stone. Sparse grass and dry shrubs dot the mountainsides. 	Shorde Plains Blanketed with lush grass as far as the eye can see, these plains are rich with game, but are difficult to get to, except for through the Erkeni lands. They are found on the other side of the Hetavyn range, and are very bountiful. Their size is so large that it is easy to get lost, with few landmarks and the same view in every direction. 	Helsdor Way This narrow strip of land is the entrance to the Zehr, Veren and Caladur lands. With mountains on one side and marsh on the other, it is a treacherous and unforgiving place. Few other animals can be found here, and it is not advisable to stay, lest you accidently trespass upon pack lands. 	Temple of the Spirits In the center of the lands, where all packs can get to it, is a peaceful copse of trees. They grow in an irregular circle, blocking the view of those outside. In the center of the trees, with small white and black flowers dotting the pale grass around it, is a stone altar. Its worn face is inscribed with strange runes, and a small obsidian box is fitted carefully into the rock, protected with a crystalline covering. A hollow ring has been cut around the box's resting place, and this indentation is filled with a still, reflective liquid of a pure, silver-blue shade. It is said that here, one can contact those dead, for advice and counsel. Here is also where the spirits hold meetings - it is very much inadvisable to intrude upon one. 	Home of the Gone Here, many flat stones mark the resting places of those who have died. To get to the Temple, one must first pass through this haunting, silent place. It seems other animals dare not come here, and most wolves avoid it as well. Something abnormal floats in the breeze, and many have said that they have heard their deceased loved ones speaking to them in unearthly voices.
